UPDATE 9/616/13 @ 11:25 a.m.

GREENUP COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) – The search resumed Monday morning for a missing elderly man with both Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease.

Gerald Boyles, 75, was reported missing from his home in South Shore, Ky., on Saturday.

Boyles’ wife says she last saw her husband about 9 p.m. Friday.

When she woke up about 5:15 a.m. Saturday, the door was open and her husband was gone.

He is believed to be wearing blue jeans and a white t-shirt.

Family, friends and rescue workers spent Saturday and Sunday looking for the elderly man.

South Shore Fire Chief Kenny Taylor says that search dog lost Mr. Boyles scent near U.S. 23.

Family members say this is not the first he was walked off. The last time he was found in a ditch by a bus driver near a school, roughly two miles from his home. He told family he was going to the bank.

Family members also tell WSAZ.com, Boyles has trouble walking and speaking so it is hard to imagine he walked very far.

On Monday, their search centered on several wooded areas along U.S. 23 east of South Shore.

If you see Boyles, call the South Shore Fire Department at (606) 932-3222.
