  • There Are Too Many Distractions


    We're the first ones to admit how wonderful it feels to just lay in bed at night and watch TV. But falling asleep to violent news stories or crazy reality television shows aren't exactly what you want. Instead, ditch the television and try reading a book and see if that doesn't help you fall asleep quicker.




  • The Room Color's Too Bright


    Most importantly, the color of your bedroom should reflect your personality. Or you can try going for a blue, green or grey color to get a real spa-like feeling.




  • The Lighting Is Harsh


    Really strong lighting is uncomfortable no matter what room you're in. While you should have a bright lamp or overhead light to navigate your closet, read a book or do your makeup, also consider investing in a light that's very dim to help create some ambiance.   • It's Just Too Damn Hot


    The warmer weather is approaching and you might be feeling it big time in your bedroom. It's best to say away from microfiber bedding as the material can add heat. Natural fibers tend to be more breathable.




  • There's Too Much Clutter


    Since the bedroom is considered the most personal space in the house (after the bathroom, of course), it's easy for it to become cluttered with photos, jewelry, clothes and everything in between. To avoid this, try to make your bed every morning and tidy up every day. Also, make sure you have a hamper and <a href="http://www.bhg.com/decorating/storage/projects/bedroom-storage-solutions/#page=1">plenty of storage</a>, so everything will have a place, instead of ending up all over the room.     If your room is small, it may be feeling a little airless, especially if there isn't a window. A great solution is to add some plants to the space.
