The Northbridge Alzheimer’s Caregivers Support raised more than $3,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association during a dance fund-raiser. Shown, from left, are Requelinda Dos Santos, social work, Northbridge; Kristen Cusato, director, southwestern Connecticut office, Alzheimer’s Association; Denise Loeb, community liaison, Northbridge; and Lisa Fratarcangeli, director of social work, Northbridge.

The Northbridge Alzheimer’s Caregivers Support group held a dance to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association’s “Walk to End Alzheimer’s” at the Riverview Bistro on Oct. 11.

Everything was donated, including the facility, food, raffle and silent auction items and entertainment, which was provided by the Signature Band.

Kristen Cusato, director of the Southwestern office of the Alzheimer’s Association of Connecticut and former co-anchor of WTNH News 8 Morning News, spoke briefly about the Alzheimer’s Association and the programs available to caregivers.

“Since everything has been donated, every dollar that we collected will go directly to the Alzheimer’s Association to fund a cure for this horrible disease,” said Denise Loeb and Lisa Fratarcangeli, both employees of Northbridge Health Care Center. We raised $3,400 this event and had a great time in the process. Our support group will be making this their donation to the Alzheimer’s Walk, which took place on Sept. 29, at Calf Pasture Beach, Norwalk.”

The Caregivers Support Group meets at Northbridge on the third Monday of every month, from 6 to 7 p.m.
