AUGUSTA, Maine — A missing Maryland man with Maine ties may be headed to the Pine Tree State, according to state police.
Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said Tuesday that Timothy John Fowler, 69, walked away from an adult day care center in Maryland on April 8.
Fowler, who has Alzheimer’s disease, grew up in Portland, has three adult children living in Maine and has often discussed returning to Maine, McCausland said.
Fowler has no driver’s license, no money and does not own a vehicle, but family members believe he has found transportation to Maine.
Fowler’s children live in Raymond and Harrison, and he has worked at the Brunswick Naval Air Station and Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, the state police spokesman said.
Fowler stands 5 foot, 10 inches, weighs 160 pounds, is bald with a long gray beard and wears glasses. He was last seen wearing a black leather jacket, bluejeans and a black baseball cap.
Anyone who may have had contact with Fowler should call state police at 657-3030.
