The Fox Valley Chapter of The Compassionate Friends, a national nonprofit support organization for families after the death of a child, welcomes all bereaved parents and adult family members to its next meeting at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 10 in the Dunleavy conference room at Mercy Center Hospital, 1325 N. Highland Ave., Aurora. The group meets the second Friday of each month. Medicare vs. Medicaid
The Oswego Senior Center is again offering a caregiver series to help better understand the services that are available. On Jan. 21, the topic will be Medicare vs. Medicaid presented by Roger Doornbos of the Illinois Department of Insurance. Alzheimer’s: Know the 10 Signs
The warning signs of Alzheimer’s disease are often dismissed as side effects of normal aging. Early detection provides a chance to begin drug therapy, enroll in clinical studies and plan for the future. Lauren Levin from the Alzheimer’s Association will separate myth from reality and addresses commonly held fears about Alzheimer’s at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 13 at the Plano Community Library, 15 W.
