ROME>>The Alzheimer’s Association, Central New York Chapter will present its Living with Alzheimer’s programs for families facing the disease during January, February and March 2014 at Rome Memorial Hospital, 1500 N. James St. in Rome.

-Living with Alzheimer’s: Early-Stage Caregivers/Living with Alzheimer’s: People With Alzheimer’s: Jan. 9, 16 and 24, 2014 at 5:30 p.m.


The Alzheimer’s Association, Central New York Chapter offers its Living with Alzheimer’s: Early-Stage Caregivers and Living with Alzheimer’s: People With Alzheimer’s three-part presentations concurrently for both the caregiver and the individual diagnosed. Families face new questions as they adjust to the early stage of Alzheimer’s disease. For the caregiver, tools and strategies are needed to cope with a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s or related dementia. In the case of the person who received the diagnosis, the disease is life-changing and leads to many questions. It is strongly recommended that you attend all three sessions.


-Living with Alzheimer’s: Middle Stage: Feb. 13, 20 and 27, 2014 at 5:30 p.m.


Living with Alzheimer’s for Caregivers: Middle Stage is a three-part series designed to provide caregivers with the knowledge, tools and strategies needed to cope with a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s or related dementia. Hear from those directly affected and learn what you need to know, what you need to plan and what you can do at each point along the way. It is strongly recommended that you attend all three sessions.


-Living with Alzheimer’s: Late Stage: March 20 and 27, 2014 at 5:30 p.m.


When someone is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, friends and family have many questions. This two-part series offers the opportunity to learn about the late stage of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, and offers information needed to provide an optimal end of life care. It is strongly recommended that you attend both sessions.
