Washington, D.C. has had a rough week, so we thought we'd show our nation's capital some love. This week's Moment of Travel Zen comes from HuffPost Travel associate editor and former Washingtonian, Lisa Miller.

A visit to D.C. isn't complete without a nighttime tour of the National Mall. At night, when the buildings and monuments light up, there's something magical about the history and grandeur of the capital. Start at the Lincoln Memorial and make your way toward the Capitol Building -- its imposing beauty will make you fall in love with the District.
