StartUp Health, a New York-based entrepreneurship program for digital health startups, is debuting its newest class. On Monday, the program announced that it had accepted 14 companies to its three-year academy, bringing the total number of companies in its portfolio to 46.

The startups, which were selected from an applicant pool of 1,200, reflect a broad range of timely topics in healthcare, from genomics and aging to sensors and patient engagement. And they run the gamut from consumer-facing companies to those that target healthcare providers and other health-related companies.

Unlike traditional startup accelerators, StartUp Health tends to select companies that have already raised some capital and have shown a bit of momentum. And, instead of lasting for three intense months, it provides entrepreneurs with training, networking opportunities and other resources for three years (in exchange for an equity stake between 2 and 10 percent).

Here’s a quick overview of the program’s latest class:

Founded by the former president and CEO of MedPage Today (which was acquired by Everyday Health), @Point of Care360 provides doctors and other healthcare providers with tools to better communicate with patients and improve clinical decision making.

One of the older companies in Startup Health, Gene by Gene was founded in 2000 and offers a range if genetic-testing services. This summer, it acquired StartUp Health gene sequencing company Arpeggi.

Medicast

Launched earlier this year, Medicast enables patients to request, 24/7, on-demand doctor’s visits. Through an app and website, patients can ask for doctors to come to their homes, offices or hotel rooms.
