St. Joseph Hospital and Community Howard Regional Health teams will meet for a softball game at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 10 at Northwest Park to raise awareness of Alzheimer’s disease and funds for the Alzheimer’s Association Greater Indiana Chapter.

The game, sponsored by North Woods Village, will be the ninth match-up between the two hospitals. “Those who attend this event can expect to watch an exciting and fun softball game, enjoy items from the concession stand, get information on Alzheimer’s disease and get satisfaction in knowing that they are helping get the word out about Alzheimer’s awareness,” said Lisa Thieke, North Woods Village community nurse liaison.

Teams are composed of 15 members each, including at least three doctors and a minimum of five women. Doctors Eric Tuchscherer, Harry Haran, Keith Ennis and Joey Juarez will play for St. Joseph Hospital; Community Howard Regional Health’s line up consists of Doctors Clifford Evans, M. Gill, and Brad Vossberg.

Admission is free, but spectators will be invited to make a freewill donation. Spectators are encouraged to bring their own seating because there is limited bleacher space. Radio Station 1350 WIOU will announce live with Chris Stevens.
