PHOENIX - Join ABC15 reporter Elizabeth Erwin for the nation’s largest fundraising even for Alzheimer’s on November 2 in Phoenix.
The three-mile Walk to End Alzheimer’s hits the streets of downtown Phoenix with a goal of raising over $300,000, and as of Wednesday, they are a little below half that.
The fundraiser is their biggest event to raise awareness for the disease that is the sixth-leading cause of death in the United States, according to the Alzheimer's Association.
Along with Mayor Greg Stanton, who will be there supporting the cause, the granddaughter of an Alzheimer’s patient will also share her story.
Annaleise Campbell emphasizes the effects of the sickness, saying, “Alzheimer’s doesn't only make one person sick, it hurts everyone else around, too.”
