GRAND RAPIDS, Mich (WOOD) - MapleCreek[1] is dedicated to taking the greatest care of all their residents, especially those with dementia. On August 17, MapleCreek will be hosting the Walk to End Alzheimer's[2] to raise awareness and funds for ongoing research. They've teamed up with the Alzheimer's Association[3] to provide people the opportunity to take a short, mile long walk through the beautiful MapleCreek grounds. It's a unique opportunity to raise awareness for a great cause.
Rachael traveled to MapleCreek to learn more about the event, and talk to a very special woman who's life was affected by Alzheimer's. Besides making the person who is suffering with Alzheimer's feel scared and confused, the care taker is also affected. Whether it's a spouse or child, tons of patience and pain goes into caring for a loved one. Help put an end to Alzheimer's and walk at MapleCreek August 17.
