Cookie Monster is taking on one of the hottest songs of 2013, Icona Pop's "I Love It," with a new "Sesame Street" parody.

The new video (above) and song, titled "Me Want It (But Me Wait)," features Cookie Monster lusting after cookies (obviously), but singing about the the need for self-control. "Me want it/But me wait," the Muppet sings.

In 2006, in response to growing concerns about record levels of childhood obesity, "Sesame Street" used Cookie Monster a vehicle to teach children about restraint and eating in moderation. Clearly, this Icona Pop cover continues that crusade.
