VISTA — A 73-year-old man with Alzheimer’s who walked away from his northeast Vista home Friday night was found late Saturday morning.
Phoung Yin, who is unable to speak, left the home on Ipanema Lane, south of Catalina Avenue and east of Foothill Drive, the Sheriff’s Department said.
He was found about 10:40 a.m. on Foothill Drive near Rancho Minerva Middle School, Lt. Mario Zermeno said.
The department had set up a command post at the middle school during the search. Officials had asked people to avoid the area if possible during the search, which included the use of a helicopter.
No information about Yin’s condition was immediately available.
