MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (AP) - A group of cyclists is finishing a ride across South Carolina to raise money and awareness for Alzheimer's disease.

On Sunday, the Alzheimer's Association wraps up its fifth annual event called "A Ride to Remember" in Mount Pleasant.

Organizers say more than 100 cyclists from across the state began a 252-mile ride in Simpsonville on Friday. Stops were planned in Newberry and Orangeburg to raise money and awareness for Alzheimer's support services, education and research programs.

The Alzheimer's Association says nearly 80,000 people in South Carolina are living with Alzheimer's disease or related dementia.
