SYLMAR (CBSLA.com) — Police are asking for the public’s help in finding an 81-year-old man with Alzheimer’s who wandered away from an assisted living facility in Sylmar.


Lee McCracken left the Astoria Gardens Assisted Living Facility in the 14000 block of Astoria Street sometime between 2 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.


Authorities said McCracken is in need of medication.


He’s described as white, 6 feet tall, 170 pounds, with gray hair, a mustache and brown eyes.


Anyone with information on his whereabouts was asked to contact the watch commander’s office at the LAPD’s Mission Division at (818) 838-9800.
