Jurors weighing murder charges against a Philadelphia abortion provider have been reviewing testimony from a key former clinic employee.
Dr. Kermit Gosnell is facing five counts of murder in the deaths of a patient and four babies allegedly born alive at his street-corner clinic in West Philadelphia.
The jury has asked to rehear the lengthy trial testimony of his former medical assistant Lynda Williams. She has pleaded guilty to two counts of third-degree murder in the deaths of the patient and one baby.
She has testified that she "snipped" the baby with scissors and helped sedate the 41-year-old patient, who died of an overdose.
The jury was in its sixth day of deliberations Wednesday.
Gosnell's lawyer argues that no babies were born alive during the abortions.
