The Alzheimer's Association is looking for volunteers to serve on its planning committee for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, which will be held in Brighton in the fall.

Volunteers would help with recruiting, motivating teams, seeking sponsors and planning the event.

The event raises awareness and funds to fight the disease. There’s currently no cure for Alzheimer’s, and it’s estimated 2,800 people in Livingston County have the disease.

The next planning committee meeting is 3:30-4:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Emeritus at Brighton retirement and assisted living facility, 833 E. Grand River Ave. in Brighton.
