On Tuesday, voters in Albuquerque, N.M., defeated a ballot measure that would have been the first municipal abortion ban. The vote came after a big fight over a ban on late-term abortions, and the result is a big deal. It would have been a big deal either way.
Our colleagues at Post TV, interviewed local political blogger Joe Monahan, who explained why the rejection of this abortion restriction has implications beyond the the city and the state.
“We were kind of a testing ground or a national experiment, if you will,” Monahan told them.
