WASHINGTON -- Former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, who reportedly mocked New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie's weight during the 2012 campaign, said on "Meet the Press" on Sunday that Christie has no health issues to worry about.

"With regards to his health, he provided his health records to us. His health is very solid, very good. There's not an issue there," Romney said.

Romney also said that there "was nothing" that researchers found "that wasn't part of the public record and that hadn't already been dealt with effectively by Chris Christie." Romney added that he thinks Christie will be a frontrunner in 2016.

"At this stage, you look at Chris Christie and say, 'That's a very impressive guy with a great track record, with a demonstrated ability to work across the aisle, with support of labor and blue-collar voters in New Jersey,'" Romney said. He also suggested that Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) could be players in the 2016 race.
