About Alzheimer's Disease

Alzheimer's Disease is the most common form of dementia among older adults. The disease involves parts of the brain that control thought, memory and language and can seriously affect a person's ability to carry out daily activities. Scientists still do not know what causes Alzheimer's disease.

Deaths from Alzheimer's increased 68 percent between 2000 and 2010, while deaths from other major diseases, including the number one cause of death, heart disease, decreased.
