An important part of beating addiction is to identify what is driving people to use the "poison" of choice in the first place.
That was the case for Nisha Moodley, a business and lifestyle coach who has experienced her fair share of struggle with addiction. Moodley told HuffPost Live's Nancy Redd[1] that she battled with addictions to food, shopping and work, as well as a 10-year smoking habit.
"Often the vices that we use are just there to fill a hole, and if we can discover what the hole is that we're trying to fill and fill it with healthier things, then the vice becomes unnecessary," she said.
Actually accomplishing this can be quite the challenge, but it's completely possible with a simple, three-step method for kicking addiction. Katie Morton, creator of The Monarch Company[2] , shares her steps in the video above.
