A B.C. mother is pleading for her epileptic son to be moved to another province for treatment.
Tracey Johnson says her six-year old son, Chase, has up to six seizures every day, and is not receiving the care he needs.
In January he was diagnosed with a type of epilepsy that's resistant to medication and Johnson says her neurologist at BC Children's Hospital is refusing to refer her son to a specialist in Halifax who she believes can help.
"She's been avoiding us. She hasn't said much of anything," Johnson said. "Every time I ask her about a transfer, she'll just go and tell us she is the best neurologist in B.C."
A spokesperson for BC Children's Hospital said while they can't talk about the specifics of the case, the hospital would never block the transfer of a child if it is safe to do so.
