The Deming Senior Center will hold an Alzheimer's/Dementia Support Group Meeting from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursday at 800 S. Granite St. The support group is set up to assist the care givers, friends and family members who are associated with individuals who suffer from Alzheimer's or some form of Dementia.


A Library has been set up for family members to check out books to further understand this disease.


There are 10 warning signs of Alzheimer's: 1. Memory loss that disrupts daily life. 2. Challenges in planning and solving problems. 3. Difficulty completing familiar tasks at home, at work or at leisure. 4. Confusion with time or place. 5. Trouble understanding visual images and spatial relationships. 6. New problems with words in speaking or writing. 7. Misplacing things and losing the ability to trace steps. 8. Decreased or poor judgment. 9. Withdrawal from work or social activities. 10. Changes in mood and personality.
