DUNMORE — People gathered Tuesday in Lackawanna County to discuss ways to help Pennsylvanians living with Alzheimer’s disease.
Pennsylvania Secretary of Aging Brian Duke met with dozens of people at Penn State’s Worthington Scranton campus in Dunmore.
Duke was appointed by Governor Tom Corbett to develop a plan to address Alzheimer’s disease in the state.
“We hope to hear about the resources that exist in the area so we can help our citizens be more aware of those resources, especially if we can focus on the impact of Alzheimer’s disease,” Duke said.
Topics discussed at the meeting included how to treat and care for people with Alzheimer’s disease and how to help their caregivers and loved ones.
