Warner named to Alzheimer's advisory panel
Retired attorney Charles Warner of Carmel Valley has been named to the Alzheimer's Association National Early-Stage Advisory Council. Warner was diagnosed with the disease in January 2012 and has endeavored to educate others about its effects.
Beth Kallmyer, vice president of constituent services for the association, said Warner will provide invaluable insight into what it is like to live with the disease.
As an adviser, Warner will serve as a national spokesman for the association and advocate for government and private initiatives to help others with Alzheimer's. One of 10 new members selected from across the country, he said he hopes to help eliminate the stigma that accompanies a diagnosis and "create a world without Alzheimer's."
