Here at Healthy Living, we're pretty particular about our workout gear.

We're always looking for stylish gym wear[1] that doesn't compromise function. We're big on support[2] and comfort[3] , but we also want outfits we're excited to put on to help motivate us to get sweatin'.

Which is why we are continuously baffled by the unfortunate choices made in the world of fitness fashion. Could anyone actually work out in these?!

  • Madonna, 'Hung Up'

Madge's arms usually get all the attention, but, hello, thighs! There aren't many people who would look this good in this tiny leotard -- and did we mention she's in her late 40s in this video! Also: Parkour!

  • Olivia Newton John, 'Physical'

We can totally relate to this fantasy -- who hasn't imagined a few minutes at the gym resulting in a total hot-body transformation? #HealthMiracle!

Not that Kanye is ever anything but outrageous, this gem not only spoofs a whole bunch of the gym personalities we've actually seen, it also pokes fun at all those trendy fitness DVDs and gadgets (hello, Skecher Shape Ups) that don't deliver on their outlandish, lose-weight-fast promises.

  • LMFAO, 'Sexy And I Know It'

Okay, so, Redfoo isn't about to win any bodybuilding competitions. But hey, he works out and he's proud of that scrawny body! We could probably all use a little more of his attitude, come to think of it. Maybe just leave the Speedo at home...
