BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - Dozens of batches of Whoopie will be made available to the public during Saturday's Whoopie Pie Festival. All to raise awareness about Alzheimer's.

The Eastern Maine Walk to End Alzheimer's planning committee spent most of the day on Friday preparing the treats at People's United Bank in Bangor. They will be handing them out to anyone interested at their booth during the annual Whoopie Pie Festival in Dover-Foxcroft that will go from 8:30am to 3:00pm. You can also make a donation that will go towards the Walk To End Alzheimer's on October 5th. According to planning coordinator for the walk, Anne Donovan-Fortier, the Whoopie Pies are a tasty way to raise awareness.

"Alzheimer's, whether it hits you personally or not, effects your community and the folks you work with, the people you live with and so we want to support those," said Fortier.
