Fact: Women give birth to babies every day and men do not. But that doesn't stop a number of guys from going to great lengths to find out what it feels like.
The Belfast Telegraph reports that the "latest subject" to brave the birth experience is Henry McKean, a radio host for Newstalk in Dublin, Ireland.
According to the station, the 34-year-old was strapped into electrodes that simulate labor pains at a maternity hospital called The Birth Hotel. There, a team of Dutch scientists hope to give even more men the real labor experience. McKean could only handle it for 2 hours and 15 minutes.
Others who have gone in for the challenge fared about as well, some with hilarious results. In January, a Dutch TV hosts posted video of themselves screaming through their labor simulation which quickly went viral. And for Mother's Day, two American men did this as a gift/apology to their own moms. Plus, earlier this year, GQ writer Bejamin Percy documented his longer pregnancy experiment experiment; he wore a pregnancy simulation suit for a full nine weeks. Percy's takeaway? "I’m not man enough to be a woman."
