Democrat Wendy Davis, a state senator from Texas, made waves Tuesday when she spent nearly 11 hours attempting a filibuster to block a GOP-led effort to impose strict new abortion restrictions across the Lone Star State.
President Barack Obama tweeted his support for Davis, but he wasn't the only one backing the state senator. Over 120,000 tuned in to the livestream of the event, and the hashtag #StandWithWendy began trending on Twitter.

Some of the strongest support for Davis came out of Texas, where hundreds of supporters gathered in the capitol's rotunda for a sit-in.
