THOMASVILLE, N.C. — Piedmont resident Rob French raised $1,000 for Alzheimer’s disease research by running for 24 hours straight.
French’s run lasted from 7 a.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday around the Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center.
He said he wanted to raise awareness for patients and caregivers dealing with Alzheimer’s disease.
French said he is passionate about the cause because his father died of Alzheimer’s disease and he wanted to honor his mother, who was his main caretaker.
French said he is going to take a few weeks off from running before hitting the road again.
