Remember when you were a kid and you learned that people swallow eight spiders a year and you were totally grossed out? First of all, that's false. Second of all, you may be eating way more insects than you realize. BuzzFeedFood has delved into the wide world of unintentional insect consumption in the video below.


Chocolate, for example, is allowed up to 60 insect fragments per 100 grams. And according to the video, five whole insects are allowed per 100 grams of apple butter.


Grossed out? We feel you, but don't fret too much. Just because this amount is technically allowed, it doesn't mean that producers are loading up their chocolate with creepy crawlers. And, maybe we should all be eating more bugs anyway.

It belonged to a worker who sliced the appendage at the restaurant's meat slicer.

    According to Wendy's, the local health department determined that a Noctuid Moth larva, found only in outdoor habitats, was provided to them by the woman as the "maggot." The health department found no evidence of any health violations in follow-up inspections of the Wendy's facility after the woman's claim.

Citing HIV fears, she sued the chain for $9 million.
