ROCKFORD (WREX) -

Volunteers from Bankers Life and Casualty Company's Rockford branches are hitting the streets and giving the gift of flowers to raise money for the Alzheimer's Association.


The 11th Annual Forget Me Not Days fundraiser kicked off Friday. Volunteers will be at local intersections and Walgreens handing out Forget-Me-Not seed packets in exchange for donations. Donors are encouraged to plant the seeds in honor of the five million Americans who suffer from Alzheimer's.


All of the money collected will be donated to the Alzheimer's Association, with the majority of money staying in Rockford.


Volunteers will be at the following locations on Saturday, May 18:



  • Walgreens, N. 2nd/Riverside - 9am to 1pm

  • Walgreens, S. Alpine - 9am to 2pm

  • North Alpine/Guilford - 11am to 2pm
