CHICO — The Alzheimer's Association is hosting an annual education conference, "Understanding Dementia: Enhancing Care." It is designed for professionals working in the field of Alzheimer care and families living the day-to-day journey of caring for loved ones with Alzheimer's disease or a related disorder.
It will be 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, May 30 at Chico Family Masonic Center,1110 W. East Ave.
Keynote speaker will be Karen Stobbe. She has performed over 500 trainings in storytelling, improvisation, caring for persons with Alzheimer's and the importance of laughter. She was working as an actress, director, writer and instructor of theater when her father was diagnosed with Alzheimer's.
