(WXYZ) - A local woman was married to the love of her life for 47 years. But, for the last six years of her husband’s life, he had developed Alzheimer's.
It is a terrible disease and it can be very challenging to care for a person who has it.
After several years of caring for her husband at home, she had to put him in an assisted living facility. She soon learned that her husband had been injured there several times and she says she had never been notified.
This woman took photos and documented many problems at the facility. Then she took her complaints to the state, which verified several of the issues.
Then the 7 Action News Investigators dug deeper and found another facility, owned by the same man, had even worse problems at one of its buildings, according to state records. That building was even shut down.
