    According to Precious Bedding, <a href="http://www.preciousbedding.com/waterbeds-where-they-come-pros-cons-a-25.html" target="_blank">Dr. Neil Arnott invented the waterbed</a> in the 1800s with the hope to prevent bedsores in patients. Although, Dr. William Hooper is credited with the patent.
