Mom is often one of the first people to look after our health: She makes sure we get enough sleep by imposing a strict bedtime, feeds us nutritious meals to help our bones grow strong and always seems to have an extra sweater on hand -- before we even know we're feeling cold.

It's even better when mom, our biggest role model, looks after her own health, as well. Whether it's squeezing in a quick, head-clearing jog or biking with her kids, we applaud all the moms who make feeling good and being healthy a priority. In honor of Mother's Day, we're celebrating a few of the famous, fit moms who are inspiring their kids -- and their fans -- to lead healthy lives. See who's on our A-list in the slideshow below, then let us know who we missed in the comments.

  • Pink

Pop singer and mom to Willow Sage, Pink stays stage-ready with a mostly-vegan diet and a cardio-heavy fitness routine. "I like results," she told Cosmopolitan. "I like feeling strong. It keeps my mental floor higher. Even if it’s a pain in the *ss and you hate working out, the endorphins help." The artist has also been spotted strength training with free weights and has made an effort to focus on her core post-pregnancy.

  • Nicole Richie

Sure, traipsing around LA to pose with puppets is a workout on its own, but Richie maintains her fit frame another way. This celeb mom is a fan of Tracy Anderson's classes, which mix cardio with movements that, according to the website, "strategically exhaust the muscles in a way that does not create bulk, and that strengthens the connection to the body."

  • Michelle Obama

The FLOTUS has long been envied for her great arms. And while they're certainly killer, Mrs. Obama's passion for living healthfully is what we find truly inspiring. The First Lady told Oprah she works out on the treadmill, lifts weights and sometimes jumps rope and kick boxes to stay healthy. Outside the gym, Obama makes staying fit fun and collaborative: She enjoys biking with the First Family and is often active planting in the White House vegetable garden.

  • Jennifer Garner

Besides partaking in active parent-duty (which include post-gym piggyback rides), celeb mom Garner mixes up her fitness regimen with SoulCycle classes and circuit-training sessions.

  • Gwyneth Paltrow

The world's most beautiful woman (and mom to Apple and Moses) trains with Tracy Anderson to stay in shape. Paltrow credits her fit figure to hard work and dedication. "It’s not an accident. It’s not luck, it’s not fairy dust, it’s not good genes. It’s killing myself for an hour and a half five days a week, but what I get out of it is relative to what I put into it. That’s what I try to do in all areas of my life,” she said last year.

  • Sarah Jessica Parker

As a mom of three, SJP has a healthy mindset when it comes to working out: "I do like feeling fit and healthy," she told Good Housekeeping. "When you're young, you can run around and not really care about what shape you're in because you wake up every day feeling OK. But now that I'm older, I need to do more for myself." The actress admits it's easier for people like her stay in shape -- and she knows she's lucky: "Money changes everything. I'm fortunate enough to have things like private trainers and yoga classes. I realize that." No matter how big your wallet is, however, you can take one cue from the actor: Walk! The star travels by foot whenever possible.

  • Jennifer Lopez

While chasing after a set of twins will undoubtedly help anyone work up a sweat, J.Lo kicks her fitness routine up an extra notch with circuit training, weight lifting and the Tracy Anderson Method. She's no wimp when it comes to working out: Lopez competed in her first triathlon in 2008. Unsurprisingly, the dancer also frequents Zumba classes (and with those moves, we'd be a little intimidated) to burn calories.

  • Cindy Crawford

This supermodel looks just as fit as she did during her iconic Calvin Klein Jeans days, and other than undeniably good genes, it's because she makes health is a priority. She told Self that she enjoys hiking in Malibu and biking with her husband and kids. Crawford squeezes fitness into her life whenever she can. "If I'm traveling and don't have much time, I'll do some push-ups, some crunches, some squats. If you stick with it, even if it's just a small amount, it becomes part of your life," she said. Crawford wrote on her blog that her workouts have evolved since her modeling days -- she incorporates pilates and dance into her routine. Another addition? Jumping on the trampoline with her kids. A little bonus (we couldn't resist): Check out this clip of Crawford's 90s workout tape "Shape Your Body."

  • Jennifer Hudson

You probably already know that J.Hud slimmed down by committing to a Weight Watchers lifestyle change -- she's been a spokesperson for the company since 2010. Exercise-wise, the singer and mom of one ensures she can belt out those notes (without losing her breath) by working with her trainer, Harley Pasternak. Hudson prefers workouts that are short and sweet, like Pasternak's 25-minute circuits, according to Fitsugar. For a less structured workout, she enjoys shooting hoops: "It's fun, you don't even realize you're working out," she told Oprah.

  • Madonna

You can add one more thing to Madonna's long resume: The mom has her own global luxury fitness brand, Hard Candy Fitness. The Queen of Pop has kept in enviable shape with a mix of yoga, kickboxing, dance, and strength training over the years. If you really want to move like Madge but can't make it to one of her clubs (which are currently located in Rome, Mexico City, Moscow, Santiago, St. Petersburg and Sydney), you can try out her Addicted To Sweat! program, which offers a simulated experience from your own living room.

  • Kate Hudson

Hudson's activity of choice is Pilates: The actress works her body in one-hour sessions with her instructor, Nicole Stuart, three times a week. "It's important to be conscious of your health and not indulge too much in the things that are bad for you. Do I mind having my appearance constantly scrutinized? I don't have enough time on this planet to worry about things like that. I'm more concerned with if I'm raising my son properly, with what makes my family happy, with what makes me happy," she told Elle UK.
